I am a health-conscious person who likes to work out regularly. In the fall season, I usually join any club or group that performs High-Intensity Interval Training. This helps me get into shape faster than other practices. So that I may be able to remain in shape through the winter season.
I am meticulous about using the proper gear for training, but due covid I was not able to get proper shoes for that as well I had the chance to experience a newer form of HIIT known as the Insanity workout.
I wore the standard sneakers to the Insanity workout and learned very quickly that I need a proper shoes, that have adequate cushioning and provide support to the feet for this type of workout.
What is an Insanity workout?
The Insanity workout is a high-intensity interval training program developed by Shaun T, a fitness instructor and choreographer. The program is designed to push the limits of the human body with intense workouts that include plyometrics, cardio, and strength training.
The program is called “Insanity” because of its rigorous demands and extreme nature. It is a 60-day program consisting of 10 different workout DVDs that are meant to be done in a specific order. Each workout lasts between 30-60 minutes and is designed to be done six days a week, with only one rest day.
The workouts are divided into three phases: Month 1, Recovery Week, and Month 2. During Month 1, the workouts are less intense, but they still challenge the body with a variety of high-intensity exercises like jumping jacks, push-ups, squats, and lunges. Recovery Week is designed to give the body a break and allow it to recover before Month 2. Month 2 is more challenging and consists of even more intense exercises than Month 1.
One of the unique aspects of the Insanity workout is the use of MAX Interval Training. This type of training involves short periods of high-intensity exercise followed by short periods of rest. This style of training is designed to push the body to its limits and maximize calorie burn.
The Insanity workout also includes a nutrition plan designed to complement the workout program. The nutrition plan emphasizes eating whole, nutrient-dense foods and limiting processed and high-sugar foods.
While the Insanity workout is challenging, it is suitable for individuals of all fitness levels. Each workout includes modifications for beginners, and the program encourages participants to listen to their bodies and take breaks when necessary.
One can do the Insanity workout with normal shoes, but it’s important to make sure they are comfortable and provide adequate support for your feet.
Ideally, one should wear cross-training shoes or running shoes that are designed to provide support for one’s feet during high-impact workouts. These shoes have cushioning and shock-absorbing features that help reduce the impact on one’s joints and prevent injury.
However, if you don’t have cross-training or running shoes, you can still do the Insanity workout in a pair of comfortable sneakers that provide good support for your feet. Just make sure they fit well and don’t cause any discomfort or pain during the workout.
When it comes to choosing the right shoes for an Insanity workout, there are a few key factors to consider:
Insanity workouts are high-impact and involve a lot of jumping, so you’ll want shoes with good cushioning to absorb the shock.
Look for shoes with good arch support and a stable base to help prevent ankle and foot injuries.
Insanity workouts often involve lateral movements and quick changes in direction, so you’ll want shoes with good traction to help you stay stable and avoid slipping.
Your shoes should be flexible enough to allow for a full range of motion in your feet and ankles.
With those factors in mind, cross-training shoes or running shoes can be a good option for Insanity workouts. It’s always a good idea to try on several pairs and see which ones feel the most comfortable and supportive for your feet.
While it is possible to do the Insanity workout with normal shoes, it is not recommended. The Insanity workout is a high-intensity workout that involves a lot of jumping, lunging, and lateral movement. Normal shoes are not designed for this type of workout and may not provide the necessary support and stability for your feet and ankles.
Insanity workout requires shoes that provide good arch support, cushioning, and stability. Good workout shoes should also have a non-slip sole to prevent slipping and sliding during exercises. Running shoes or cross-training shoes are suitable for the Insanity workout.
Running shoes are designed for forward movement and provide good cushioning for the feet. They are suitable for exercises that involve jumping and forward movement. Cross-training shoes are designed for lateral movement and provide good support for the feet and ankles. They are suitable for exercises that involve jumping, lunging, and lateral movement.
Using normal shoes for the Insanity workout can lead to injuries such as ankle sprains, shin splints, and knee pain. Normal shoes lack the necessary support and stability for the insanity workout, which puts more pressure on your feet and ankles.
In conclusion, It is recommended to invest in a good pair of workout shoes that provide good arch support, cushioning, and stability. Running shoes or cross-training shoes are suitable for the Insanity workout and can help improve your performance and reduce the risk of injuries.
